WDA - Welsh Development Agency

WAG - Welsh Assembly Government (DE&T)

Prior to being abolished on 31st March 2006, the Welsh Development Agency had been the major sponsor of the SWIMM network. Following the re-organisation into the Economic Development & Transport body of the Welsh Assembly Government from April 2006, the DEIN (Department of Enterprise, Innovation and Networks), later re-branded again as the DE&T, continued to support SWIMM until March 2008.

The Welsh Assembly Government is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programmes for all issues that have been devolved to Wales. The First Minister, the Rt Hon Rhodri Morgan AM, leads the Assembly Government and chairs a Cabinet of eight other Ministers. All Ministers are accountable to the Assembly and its committees for all that they do.
